The Somerset Collection and Felicia’s Salon of Birmingham teamed up to host the “Shine” fashion show to benefit the summer camp programs of Bloomfield SCAMP and FAR Conservatory on March 9th, and did the models ever shine! The talent on the catwalk was made up of local volunteers and the very wonderful kids of SCAMP, Far Conservatory and Variety – Detroit, The Children’s Charity. The event was packed with an enthusiastic audience, whose donations went to fund $10,000 worth of summer camp experiences for children with disabilities. The beaming smiles on the faces of the young models got even brighter when our student commentators Jaime Beckett, Gabby Shuert and Vanessa King announced that the kids got to keep the outfits they modeled, courtesy of the shops of the Somerset Collection! Many thanks go out to Ruthie Seltzer and Laura Bosart for chairing this uplifting day of fashion and fun to provide kids with disabilities with an unforgettable summer experience.
